  • C&NW Dinner

Jean and I just had a nice steak dinner at Guldens.  It was the annual dinner of the C&NW.  Janet Dickey was there too.  I was very happy to see her.

It was not the same without Walter.  He knew everybody!

Another "clientele" is taking over, although the two couples that were at our table were very nice and joined in the conversation.

The highlight of the day was when the president came over and kissed me on the cheek and reminesced about how he and Pep had gone golfing.  He had some pictures of Pep to show me.

  • Easter Sunday

I went to Pam and Barry and the kids, and had a good dinner and a good time too.  The only thing wrong was John and Marilyn were not there.  She was too tired from work. They did not even go to church.

I got up anticipating watching the Hour of Power but it was not on the last two Sundays, although it was listed in the paper.

The only bad thing that happened was Dorothy Bode's little one, Jerry, got hurt.  He stuck his hand in the bike chain when it was going around and hurt his hand.  Pam took them to the Emergency and he has to see a hand specialist.

  • About my fall, I did not lay there for 23 1/2 hours.  I only laid there from 4 to 11 the next day (when Jean called, and until Jean and Pam got over there to help me up).  That was long enough!

  • Bernie was here Monday and stayed overnight.  (I showed him how the Medical Alert worked.)

And the next day we went to the bank and Cub Foods before getting home in time for Jean to come over, but she was too busy to come.  And he left for St. Louis about Noon.

  • I fell November 23 in the garage (about 4 o'clock, just after taking out the garbage).  Thank you God for telling me to leave the light on and the door into the kitchen open, and for making me hit the back of my head on the car instead of on the cement.  Now why couldn't you help me get up?  (I'll bet it was so I would get the Medical Allert.)  Anyway, after laying there for 23 1/2 hours when I knew Jean was going to come at 3:30 to fix my computer, I finally decided to get the Alarm.  Jean put it in last Friday (Nov. 26th).

I ached all over after my ordeal but Jean and Tony picked me up and we went over to Pam and Barry's for Thanksgiving Day, and had a really good time.
